This is the artist who truely got me headed down this road I've chosen. Mr. Ted Flower, my older brother. All his work is done in ball-point pen and as I'm sure you'll agree, he is truley a master of the ball-point pen.

A LETTER FROM THE ARTIST

My Art

Hi, I'm Ted Flower and this is my collection of ball-point art work, such as it is. As you can see, there aren't a lot of peices. That's mostly becuase of the scale I work at. My smaller projects are mostly 12 x 18 inches up to poster size, 22 x 28 inches and take anywhere from three weeks to three months to produce. My larger project though, is taking years to get done. In fact, after two and a half years, the first phase of my larger project is coming to completion. This a three phase project starting with the city of Edmonton Alberta. Then over the next eight yearsI'll include Calgary and New York. The city of Edmonton currently, even incomplete, is by several orders of magnitude the largest, full coverage, ball-point work on Earth. Each of the next two projects will be sucessively larger. The city of Edmonton measures three and one half feet by eight feet. Calgary will be four by ten feet and New York will be five by twelve feet. I began working on Edmonton September 20, 2004, and with a little luck, should finish by April or May this year.

How long have I done this kind of work? Since 1971 actually.
What got me started? Lack of disipline mostly. This was a media where I could jump all over the page and do whatever turned me on without wrecking the work. I LOVE IT! I've been doing it ever since. Hope you like it too!
